Đa số sinh viên chuyên ngữ năm hai khóa 63 trường Đại học Nha Trang mắc các lỗi ngữ pháp, chính tả, từ vựng và ý tưởng khi học viết thương mại tiếng Anh. Để cải thiện kỹ năng viết, giảng viên đã cho sinh viên lớp thử nghiệm làm dự án phục vụ cộng đồng nhằm giúp sinh viên năm nhất viết các đoạn văn học thuật. Phương pháp phục vụ cộng đồng là phương pháp dạy kết nối kiến thức sinh viên đã học trong lớp với những kiến thức và kỹ năng có được khi tham gia các hoạt động tình nguyện cộng đồng để đạt được mục tiêu giáo dục bền vững. Mục đích của bài viết này hướng đến tìm hiểu thái độ của sinh viên về dự án cộng đồng và nghiên cứu liệu dự án có cải thiện kỹ năng viết thương mại của sinh viên chuyên ngữ. Khách thể nghiên cứu bao gồm 113 sinh viên, trong đó, 82 sinh viên năm hai khóa 63 (41 sinh viên lớp thử nghiệm và 41 sinh viên lớp truyền thống) và 31 sinh viên năm nhất khóa 64. Phương pháp nghiên cứu tài liệu, phương pháp nghiên cứu định tính (phỏng vấn cá nhân) và phương pháp định lượng (khảo sát trực tuyến, so sánh kết quả cuối kỳ) được sử dụng trong bài viết này. Kết quả cho thấy dự án phục vụ cộng đồng đã cải thiện kỹ năng viết thương mại của sinh viên, và phát triển kỹ năng mềm khác như kỹ năng giao tiếp, tổ chức và lên kế hoạch, làm việc nhóm, tìm kiếm thông tin, và làm quen với công nghệ thông tin.
