Tóm tắt

Nghiên cứu này nhằm mục đích làm sáng tỏ văn hóa vật chất Nam Bộ từ không gian sông nước, ẩm thực, nhà ở, trang phục qua trường hợp Hồ Biểu Chánh và Nguyễn Ngọc Tư. Bài viết áp dụng phương pháp tiếp tận liên ngành, kết hợp giữa phân tích văn học và soi chiếu từ góc nhìn văn hóa học để làm rõ đặc trưng văn hóa vật chất vùng Nam Bộ qua văn học. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy từ không gian sông nước, ẩm thực, nhà ở, trang phục, khi đi vào văn học đã được nhà văn nghệ thuật hóa, chưng cất và nâng lên thành một hệ thống biểu tượng phức hợp và giàu ý nghĩa. Chúng tạo nên bản sắc văn hóa vật chất, kiến giải về mối quan hệ giữa con người và tự nhiên, thể hiện giá trị tinh thần của vùng đất và con người phương Nam. Thông qua việc miêu tả, nhà văn nói lên rất nhiều điều về mối quan hệ giữa con người với tự nhiên, con người với xã hội và những giá trị tinh thần cốt lõi đã định hình nên bản sắc của vùng đất phương Nam.
