Abstract

In recent years, domestic solid waste has increased in composition, volume, and toxicity, causing environmental pollution in some urban areas of Vietnam. The objective of this study is assessing the current state of collection and transportation of domestic solid waste in Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city. From there, the article proposed appropriate solutions for household solid waste management in the study area. The article used methods of collection, analysis, synthesis of documents, methods of field investigation and data processing. Research results showed the current status of increasing household solid waste generation. The collection and transportation of household solid waste in the area had many achievements due to the use of digital conversion. The collection rate at households reached 98%. The situation of garbage being stagnant for 3-5 days has ended. However, there are still some remained problems. This is the basis for some solutions (policy measures, finance, communication) for the collection and transportation household solid waste in Lien Chieu district.
