Abstract

The study was conducted in Cham Chu Nature Reserve, located in Yen Thuan commune, Ham Yen district, Tuyen Quang province, with the aim of identifying the composition of plant systems, assessing diversity, economic value, and conservation status. By employing field observation methods, data collection through interviews, and information processing, the study recorded 575 plant species distributed across 367 genera, 134 families, and 5 plant divisions. The group of terrestrial sprouting plants accounted for the highest proportion (66.26%) among the life forms. In terms of application, plants in this area are primarily exploited for medicinal purposes (43.52%), timber (15.71%), food (14.18%), and ornamental use (10.77%). Notably, 43 threatened species were identified, many of which are listed in Vietnam's Red Book and protected under Decree No. 06/2019/ND-CP. The flora here exhibits tropical forest characteristics, with tropical elements making up 80.17% and endemic species to Vietnam accounting for 7.3%. The article emphasizes the critical role of sustainable conservation and utilization of natural resources under the pressures of degradation. These findings not only provide a scientific foundation for conservation efforts but also contribute to economic development and ecosystem protection at the local level.
