Abstract

Digital transformation is becoming increasingly strong and becoming an inevitable trend, this process is associated with the application of digital technology in all aspects of human social life. Students are an important force contributing to the continuous development of the "digital society". Digital capacity is the most important factor for maintaining learning, as well as the learning outcomes of students in the current learning environment. This has posed a need for Vietnamese higher education to create a generation of students with this capacity. To obtain information on the current status of students' digital capacity, the article conducted a survey of 415 students from different majors of the University of Science, Thai Nguyen University. The research results show that students of the University of Science, Thai Nguyen University have quite positive feelings at the level of very good and good (accounting for more than 60%) about their own digital capacity. However, there is still a relatively high proportion of students who self-assess their digital competence at an average level (accounting for more than 30%) and a small number of students (accounting for about 5%) who self-assess their digital competence at a weak and very weak level. Based on the research results, the article has proposed a number of specific recommendations to contribute to improving digital competence for students of the University of Science, Thai Nguyen University.
