Abstract

The online environment brings many benefits and interesting experiences to students but also has many potential risks: fraud, violence, harassment, seduction, abuse... in which the issue of students being bullied online, especially in big cities, is of great concern. The study used a combination of quantitative and qualitative data on 372 students in grade 8 and grade 9 to focus on clarifying the reality of students being bullied online in secondary schools in Tuyen Quang city, Tuyen Quang province. The survey results showed that the rate of students being bullied online is quite high, taking place in many different forms and manifesting in many specific behaviors; students being bullied online comes from subjective and objective causes and causes psychological and physical effects. The research results also raise issues about cyberbullying prevention education for students in secondary schools in general and secondary school students in Tuyen Quang city in particular, ensuring that the young generation can develop safely and healthily in the online environment.
