SCIENTIFIC BASIS FOR PUBLIC INVESTMENT FOR HUNGER ERADICATION AND POVERTY REDUCTION

Abstract

In the development process,Vietnamhas promulgated and implemented a system of comprehensive policies for hunger eradication and poverty reduction, including policies on public investment and the achievements are very impressive. However, there were also many concerns related to the efficiency and quality of public investment projects in this field. Based on a review of the published documents this paper will be discussed some theoretical and practical issues on public investment for hunger eradication and poverty reduction. From that, 5 factor groups were affected on public investment of poverty reduction. Base on reviewed articles, 7 lessons were learnt in order to improve efficiency of public investment for hunger eradication and poverty alleviation contributing to the successful implementation of poverty reduction inVietnam.
