The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a proposed regional free trade agreement under negotiation among 12 nations around the Pacific, making it the world’s largest. The negotiating partnerts have expressed an interest in allowing this proposed “living agreement” to cover new trade topics and to include new members that are willing to adopt the proposed agreement’s high standards. Vietnam’s membership in the TPP will have opportunities and challenges espically for the Textile and Garment Company will have conditions to promote exports and to remove tariff barriers which are very heavy.
Characteristics of the Thai Nguyen’s Textile and Garment is just sewing processing, manufacturing exports FOB and domestic FOB so diverse materials. For processing contracts are mainly due to raw material drums ordering party sent to, a part is ordering by buying protection. For the production of raw materials for exports and domestic FOB then buy outside (domestic and foreign imports). This paper showed the opportunities and challenges of the Textile supply chain of Thai Nguyen province when Vietnam join the TPP.
