ANALYSIS AERO-DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE AND EFFECT OF POSTURE ON AIR RESISTANCE ACTING ON A CARGO RIVER

Abstract


The problem of improving economic efficiency for the cargo river ship is still not studied in Vietnam. In order to analyze and evaluate the effects of the ship design, posture of ship on aero-dynamics performances and air resistances acting on the ship. In this paper, the authors presents some results of a study on aero-dynamic performance and effect of ship posture on aero-dynamics performance and air resistance acting on above water hull surface of the cargo river ship by used a commercial computational fluid dynamics code. From the computed results, some technical solutions will be proposed to improve aero-dynamic performance and reduce air resistance acting on the ship. Study on reduced resistance acting on a ship is as well as a study on improving economic efficiency of the ship by reduced fuel consumption.
