INDIA-RUSSIA STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP DURING THE FIRST DECADE OF THE XXI CENTURY

Abstract


Since the signing of the Declaration of India-Russia Strategic Partnership in October 2000, India - Russia ties have acquired a qualitatively new character with enhanced levels of cooperation taking place in almost all areas of the bilateral relationship including political, security, trade and economy, defense, science and technology, and culture. During the visit of the Russian President to India in December 2010, the Strategic Partnership was elevated to the level of a “Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.” In this article, the author considers the relationship between the two countries on the issues: the impact factor, the comprehensive development in the areas, and prospects of this relationship in the future.
