VIEWPOINTS AND PRINCIPLES OF RESTRUCTURING THE NETWORK OF TEACHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS IN VIETNAM

Abstract


On the basis of presenting some inadequacies in restructuring the network of universities and colleges in the 2006-2020 period, including the system of teacher education universities and colleges, the paper introduces the views and principles of restructuring teacher education network in Vietnam according to a new approach. From the results of analysing international experiences and the current context of higher education renovation, the paper proposes a number of orientations for restructuring the network of teacher education universities and colleges, in which some key teacher training institutions should be built for leading the teacher education system and gradually international integration in the area of teacher training.
