In July 28, 2018, The Steering Committee renewed the curriculum of general education textbooks officially through the general education program with fundamental and comprehensive changes in educational content, in which content of citizen education. Content from basic education to career-oriented education has significant new points, especially in the career-oriented orientation. The article analyzes the basic changes in the new general education program subject Civics, thereby clarifying the requirements of renovating teaching economics subjects in the Bachelor of Political Education training program at the University of Education – Thai Nguyen University. By the methods of logical analysis combined with history, statistics, aggregated comparisons, the author analyzes and proposes innovations in teaching economics subjects to meet the requirements of the new situation at the University of Education – Thai Nguyen University. The article is not only theoretical meaning but also has great practical implications for improving the quality of the curriculum to meet the new needs of society.
