ASSESSMENT ON MANAGEMENT OF DOMESTIC SOLID WASTES AND SOLUTIONS IN DONG HUNG DISTRICT, THAI BINH

Abstract

The amount of domestic solid waste in Dong Hung district increases fast in the recent years and will be rised via forecart. This study aims at assessing on management of domestic solid waste in 5 communes (Đong Quang, Phu Chau, Đong Son, Đong Xuan, Đong Hop) in Dong Hung district. Methods are used such as: collect information, survey method, identifing discharge index of domestic solid wastes, forecasting method, analysis and synthesis. Discharge index of domestic solid wastes in all communes are 0,53-0,61 kg/person/day. The rate of organic wastes is from 49% to 55%, inorganic wastes is from 45% to 51%. Ineffecive in collecting of wastes, solid wastes classification at source, gathering location, management; resident awareness are limited, causing environmental pollution. This study contributes to giving solutions to improve to domestic solid wastes management systems, enhacing management efficiency, environmental pollution reduction.
