Abstract

Nom Tay narrative poems are a typical part of ethnic minority literature. The values of Tay’s narrative poems need to be preserved and enhanced in current social life. Among those values, their communication culture is considered as typical and educational one. In order to clarify the expressions and the values of communication culture in certain Tay’s narrative poems, we mainly used interdisciplinary approach, survey research method, statistical method, meta-analysis and comparison. The results showed that out of 25 Nom Tay narrative poems surveyed, there were 21 poems referring to the marital relationship, 12 poems mentioning the relationship between parents and children, sibling relationship accounts for only 4/25 poems... This study has contributed to clarify the expressions of communication culture, moral education, values of culture and literature included in Tay’s narrative poems, thus partly preserving and promoting the positive traditional cultural values of Tay ethnic minority people in particular and of ethnic minority people in Vietnam in general.
