Abstract


The paper focuses on the current situation of domestic solid waste management in the area of Canh Nau commune, Thach That district, Hanoi city. Research methods are information collection, actual survey methods, statistical methods and information processing. The article surveyed 359 households out of a total of 3,303 households. The average daily daily-life solid waste generation is 0.51 - 0.65 kg/ person/day and the average amount of solid waste in the whole commune is 7.5 tons/day, however, domestic solid waste. In the commune, there are only 2 collection times a week and the gathering point is only about 500 m2, the amount of waste is regularly stagnant in the street. The form of collection and treatment of daily-life solid waste in the commune is outdated, there is no incinerator, only burning open waste, people's awareness, handling is limited, causing environmental pollution. The study also makes recommendations to improve the efficiency of local domestic solid waste management and reduce environmental pollution.
