Abstract

The main purpose of this study aims to: (1) assess the current status of Community-based tourism in Son La city, (2) Proposing a management model for community-based tourism development in Son La city, (3) then propose the suitable model of community tourism development in Son La city. Together with related document analysis, secondary data was used to generate the results in the study. In addition, group discussion and in-depth interview with involved participants in Community-based tourism were also conducted to gather other important information. The results indicated that Son La city has a good potential for community-based tourism development because of advantages of natural condition, long history and indigenous culture diversity of ethnic groups. The study also suggested suitable models for sustainable Community-based tourism development management goal.
