ACHIEVEMENTS IN POVERTY REDUCTION UP TO THE NEW STANDARD OF THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE IN THE PERIOD OF 2016-2020

Abstract

The poverty reduction and solving the jobs of the citizens in Thai Nguyen is one of the important missions, urgent and big significant task about politic, economy – society and defense security. According to the National target program on sustainable poverty reduction for the period 2016 – 2020, the Provincial Party Committee focused on leading, mobilizing and enforcing the reduction of poverty in order to a high result of the multidimensional poverty line to make Thai Nguyen achieve the second province into 11 provinces, which has rapidly in poverty reduction in the North East area. This is the result of making a poverty reduction policy according to new standards – The multidimensional poverty line of the Party Committee and people of Thai Nguyen province. By the method of synthesis, data analysis and processing, this article shows several results, which reached in poverty reduction about the new standard in the period of 2016-2020 in Thai Nguyen province. Thereby, reflecting the correctness of the Government when changing the Poverty measurement method in Viet Nam, concurrently reflect on the efforts of poor households in Thai Nguyen. This research result contributes to better implementation of poverty reduction lots of years later in Thai Nguyen.
