Abstract

Aucubaceae is a small family with only one genus (Aucuba), 10 species. This family distributes mainly in Bhutan, China, North India, Japan, Korea, Myanmar and Vietnam. Among 10 species, there are 7 endemic species in China. In Vietnam, this family has only 1 species - Aucuba japonica Thunb., distribution in Lang Son (Mau Son). During the investigation in Bat Xat, Lao Cai, we found A. robusta P. P. Fang & T. P. Soong. Previously, this species only distributes in Quang Tay Province (China). This is new record for the flora of Vietnam. This paper provides fully important information of A. robusta P. P. Fang & T. P. Soong such as: description, color photo, type, distribution and morphological comparison with closely species of Aucuba Thunb. in Vietnam.
