Abstract


Currently, the new perspective on good teaching is to make students want to learn, know how to learn and learn effectively. Organizing group discussions in teaching in the direction of capacity development is not only a form of promoting the active, self-disciplined and positive role of learners in the process of self-study and self-research but also training students’ professional competencies according to the output standard framework of the discipline. Therefore, the group discussion method in teaching Ho Chi Minh Thought has been clarified by many scientific works, but there have not been any direct studies on the role of this method in teaching Ho Chi Minh's Thought to develop problem-solving capacity for students. By analyzing and synthesizing the research problem, we went into the general theory of using the group discussion method in teaching Ho Chi Minh Thought in order to develop problem-solving capacity for students; based on the content and characteristics of the subject, determined the general and specific competencies. On that basis, the article clarifies the role of using group discussions in teaching Ho Chi Minh Thought to develop students' problem-solving capacity to see that the research problem is especially important when universities are placing urgent requirements in innovating teaching methods oriented towards capacity development.
