Abstract

Practice in Biology is a teaching method that plays an important role in the process of developing students' qualities and competencies as required by the General Education Curriculum 2018. This article surveys and analyzes current status of practical teaching in Biology for 65 Biology teachers at high school in Ho Chi Minh city. Research results show that teachers appreciate the role of practical teaching Biology in developing students' qualities and competencies. Teachers have used practical teaching methods with many forms and even in the many steps of the teaching process in order to  develop biological cognitive competencies, learn the living world competencies, communication and cooperation, responsibility, honesty combine  students assessment. This method shows high efficiency when used regularly. Although there are still many difficulties, teachers have also taken many remedial measures to improve the effectiveness of practical teaching.
