Abstract

Hyaline membrane disease is also one of the leading causes of respiratory failure in infants, which, if not treated quickly and properly, can lead to death. This paper aims to describe the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of Hyaline membrane disease in premature neonates at Thai Nguyen hospital A in 2022. The study used a cross-sectional descriptive study design, collected information from 51 premature neonates diagnosed with Hyaline membrane disease at Thai Nguyen Hospital A from August 2021 to July 2022. The results showed that most of the children had a gestational age of less than 32 weeks (51.0%), the mean gestational age in boys (32.0±2.69) was higher than that of girls (30.4±1.4), weighing the average weight of children is 1527.25g. The most common clinical symptoms in pediatric patients were cyanosis (98%) and groaning (86.3%). The blood gas indexes are all below normal and 100% of children have grade 3 and grade 4 on Radiography. After 1 hour surfactant treatment, blood gas index, SpO2 and FiO2 were within normal limits. After at least 6 hours surfactant treatment, 13.7% of the children had X-ray grades 3 and none of the children had X-ray grades 4. Therefore, using surfactant in preterm infants with endothelial disease brought about a significant effect, blood gas index, SpO2, FiO2, chest X-ray were all improved.
