Abstract

A revised check-list of the species taxa of the genus Atractophaedusa Ehrmann, 1927 (family Clausiliidae) is presented. The changes of the current system are discussed. This study has resulted in the recognition of seven species. Most species have narrow ranges and are only known from their type localities. All species of genus Atractophaedusa have been recognised as occurring from southern China to northern Vietnam, and are characterized by a thick, quite solid, capsule-shaped to long cylindrical shell, with a pointed or flattened apex; consists of 6-9 whorls, separated by shallow sutures. Color uniformly corneous; aperture semicircular or oval, oblique; double peristome, upper margin thick and protruding, lower margin weak and spaced from upper margin; superior and spiral lamellae fused, but boundary between them visible as a rather abrupt decrease in height.
