Abstract

In modern society, communication through the language of ethnic minorities holds a significant position in social life, especially in multi-ethnic countries like Vietnam. Communication in the language of ethnic minorities also contributes to the socio-economic development, sustainable poverty reduction, and eradication of hunger. At the same time, it helps to promote and preserve beautiful images of the cultural identity and lives of the ethnic minority communities. The purpose of this article is to conduct a survey of some online newspapers and social media platforms such as Facebook, Zalo, and Youtube to demonstrate the importance and role of online newspapers and social media platforms in using the language of ethnic minorities to preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic minorities in Vietnam. The research method used is statistical analysis and evaluation. The results of the survey show that this form of media has received attention but there are still limitations in terms of quantity and quality. We need to pay more attention to online newspapers and social media platforms in the language of ethnic minorities to contribute to the development of communication in the language of ethnic minorities, towards sustainable development of the ethnic minority communities in Vietnam.
