Abstract

Thong Nhat Coal Company is a branch of Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group. Every year, the company organizes regular health check-ups and occupational disease detection for its workers. However, the assessment of the actual situation of coal workers’ pneumoconiosis has not been studied. Therefore, we conducted this study to describe the current situation of coal workers’ pneumoconiosis among workers at Thong Nhat Coal Company in 2022. This cross-sectional study was conducted on all 1752 workers in 17 workshops of Thong Nhat Coal Company in 2022. The study results showed that the prevalence of occupational coal workers’ pneumoconiosis among the study subjects was 12.5%, with the highest rates found in the age group of 40-49 (52.97%) and those with seniority of 10-19 years (49.3%). Workers in the mining and tunneling positions had the highest prevalence rate at 79.45%. There is a statistically significant relationship between occupational age and working location with anthrax of the study subjects.
