RESEARCH ON PROPAGATION OF ROSA LAEVIGATA MICHX. BY STEM CUTTINGS METHOD
About this article
Published: 12/10/18Abstract
The article presents the propagation research results of Rosa Laevigata Michx. in Thai Nguyen by using stem cuttings method. The research material was collected in Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province. The propagation results has shown that: in the same study period the softwood stem propagate new plants better than brand new stem or fully mature stem. The two rooting hormones IBA and NAA applied to the cuttings in different doses (100 ppm, 150 pm, 2200 ppm) also gave different results. The NAA in 100 ppm dose has released the best effect on stem’s survival and rooting percentage. Apart from stem type and auxin group hormones, the substrates also determined the survival and rooting rate. Of many substrates tested, the 1:1:1:1 ( in volume) hilly land: organic soil: coir: sand substrate produced the longest roots and highest root quality. The rate of cuttings shooting reached 90% while the rate of cuttings rooting is 86.67%. The average number of roots per stem is 13.67. After 60 days of stem cuttings, the new generated plants rate that meet the transplanted standard is 83.33%. The shoot reaches 6.48 cm height and the number of the leaf per stem is 10.02 pieces. Since 60 days from transplanted time, the new generated plants grow in good quality with no different in morphological characteristic in compared to native Rosa Laevigata Michx. in Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province.
