Abstract

The present study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and infection intensity of Eurytrema spp. in buffaloe, cattle herd in Tuyen Quang province, from 2020 to 2022, we have collected and examined fecal samples of 1750 buffaloes and cattle at 5 districts and cities in Tuyen Quang province. The results showed that: through fecal test, the prevalence of eurytrematosis in buffaloes and cattle was 21.20%. The prevalence was different in localities; the prevalence increased in accordance with age of buffaloes and cattle; the prevalence was highest in buffaloes and cattle aged over 8 years old (36.96% and 32.26%, respectively); the prevalence of buffaloes and cattle raised in free grazing method was significantly higher than those in semi-grazing method (23.53% compared to 12.60%, respectively); buffaloes and cattle infected with pancreatic fluke was higher in the mountainous region than those in the hills and plain region (29.34% compared with 22.35% and 14.3%). The infection intensity of Eurytrema spp. of level 3+ was 12.67% in the total infected buffaloes and cattle. Praziquantel medicine with a dose of 18 mg/kg BW have high safety and effectiveness.
