ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES IN ONLINE LEARNING FOR STUDENTS OF CAN THO UNIVERSITY

Abstract


Learning is the process of absorbing knowledge into the mind. Learning can be organized in many different forms. Online learning is one of the popular forms of learning today. Each form of learning has advantages and limitations. What advantages and difficulties do students of Can Tho University have during the online learning process? This study uses questionnaires and surveys via Google Forms to answer such question. Research results were processed using SPSS 16.0 software. Research results show that students highly appreciate the advantages of online learning (mean = 3.71; Std. Deviation = 0.771) as online learning helps students easily and learning content record, saves learning costs, and makes it easy for learners to organize presentations. However, students also have learning difficulty in organizing online learning activities and using online learning software and equipment (Mean = 2.72; standard score = 0.697). In particular, students encounter difficulties related to organizing online learning activities (Mean = 2.99; Std. Deviation = 0.757) higher than difficulties in using online learning software and equipment (Mean=2.44; Std. Deviation=0.860). From the research results, Can Tho University refers to serve policies in organizing training methods at the school.
