Abstract

Culture is an indispensable factor in every language. Many studies have confirmed the role of cultural factors in teaching and learning Vietnamese to foreigners. This study aims to study the current situation of using cultural factors in teaching and learning Vietnamese in China and propose some measures to improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning Vietnamese in China. The research methods are the questionnaire survey, direct interview, and content analysis. Research results show that cultural factors have been used in teaching and learning Vietnamese in China. However, in using cultural factors, teachers and students still encounter certain difficulties. Therefore, the article proposes three measures which can both improve the effectiveness of using cultural factors in teaching the Vietnamese language in China and can be applied in teaching Vietnamese to foreigners.
