Abstract


Panax pseudoginseng Wall is a fundamental herb in traditional Vietnamese medicines and has been in great demand. Optimum conditions for seed germination and seedling growth were investigated to increase baseline knowledge of this valuable species. The optimum treatement temperature for seed germination of P. pseudoginseng Wall was from 40 - 45 °C in 15 minutes. Seeds showed better germination under top soil with 50% sand. Sunlight shading of 30% achieved the best developed germination of seeds. 1% NPK chemical fertilizer (AT3) and 10% microbial fertilizer Song Gianh markedly improved seedling growth of P. pseudoginseng Wall at normal growth conditions after 6 months in the nursery. As the results, the survival rate was from 83,2 to 83,8%, The average height was from 12,6 to 12,8 cm, The disease incidence on leaves was from 7,6 to 8,6%,  The SPAD was from 28,2 to 28,4.
