Tóm tắt

“Me tây” (Người phụ nữ Việt Nam lấy chồng Tây vào cuối thế kỉ XIX đầu thế kỉ XX) là một trong những nhân vật xuất hiện và gây được nhiều sự chú ý, bàn thảo ở Việt Nam cuối thế kỉ XIX, đầu thế kỉ XX. Tuy nhiên, cho đến nay, trong phạm vi tư liệu chúng tôi có được, chưa có một công trình nào tổng thuật và phân tích chặng đường nghiên cứu này một cách hệ thống. Do đó, công trình này tập trung làm rõ câu hỏi nghiên cứu: “Me tây” là gì? Chặng đường nghiên cứu về “me tây” đã có những thành tựu và khoảng trống nào? Những vấn đề nào cần tiếp tục nghiên cứu về nhân vật này? Để tìm ra câu trả lời, chúng tôi sử dụng phương pháp tổng hợp, phân tích, so sánh tài liệu trong và ngoài nước liên quan đến nhân vật “me tây”. Kết quả thu được cho thấy, trong chặng đường nghiên cứu này, “me tây” có xuất hiện trong các công trình nghiên cứu nhưng chưa bao giờ trở thành đối tượng nghiên cứu chính. Vì thế, khoảng trống nghiên cứu về nhân vật này còn rất nhiều. Một số vấn đề có thể tiếp tục được là: sự vận động trong đời sống của “me tây” dưới những cách tiếp cận như diễn ngôn, văn hóa học,... Kết quả nghiên cứu có thể được sử dụng trong nghiên cứu và giảng dạy văn học Việt Nam nói chung, nghiên cứu và giảng dạy về nhân vật phụ nữ trong văn học Việt Nam nói riêng.
