Tóm tắt
Tự do học thuật là một thành tố của tự chủ đại học. Sau khi Luật giáo dục đại học bổ sung “Quyền tự chủ trong học thuật, trong hoạt động chuyên môn” (2018), vấn đề tự chủ học thuật bắt đầu được các giảng viên quan tâm với nhiều ý kiến bất đồng. Việc tìm hiểu nội hàm, bản chất của tự do học thuật trong giáo dục đại học có ý nghĩa quan trọng trong việc xây dựng và phát triển giáo dục đại học hiện đại ở nước ta. Bài viết này phân tích nội hàm tự do học thuật từ góc độ lịch sử phát triển của đại học nên sử dụng phương pháp nghiên cứu lịch sử, thu thập, tổng hợp và phân tích tài liệu. Kết quả nghiên cứu tập trung làm rõ bản chất khái niệm của tự do học thuật trong trường đại học từ góc nhìn lịch sử, vai trò của tự do học thuật với sự phát triển của hệ thống giáo dục Việt Nam hiện đại và đưa ra một vài ý kiến để đảm bảo quyền tự do học thuật trong đổi mới giáo dục đại học ở nước ta.
