Abstract

Ethnic women living in Backan province where people’s economic condition is difficult are deeply influenced by male-dominated thought. So ethnic women accept one's fate resignedly and remain unchanged. Nowadays, ethnic women’s role is more and more developing. They not only are wives and mothers, but also are main labour in family and society. More than 70 percent of female workers directly engaged in agricultural production. This shows that ethnic minority women in Bac Kan province are important subjects which contribute to complete building new rural areas.
