Abstract

To meet the requirements in teaching reading comprehension of literary texts in the Literature subject of the 2018 program, teachers need to focus on skills in designing exercises to develop reading comprehension capacity for students. For this work to be effective, teachers need to pay attention to several requirements, principles, processes, and construction methods. Fable texts in 7th grade Literature textbooks are a type of text that has similar and different characteristics compared to other types of story texts, so a suitable exercise system is needed. Based on the inheritance of existing research, this article conducts a survey of the existing exercise system in textbooks and workbooks of Literature 7, from there, builds a process for designing and applying the process. This program is designed to illustrate a number of exercises to develop reading comprehension skills for fable genre which were taught in the 7th grade Literature Textbook of Middle School. The research results will help teachers have more useful materials and necessary suggestions to develop skills in designing reading comprehension exercises with other topics/genres.
