ECONOMY OF THE CHO DON LAND (BAC KAN) FROM 1916 TO 1945

Abstract


Bac Kan is a mountainous province in the Northeast region of Viet Nam. It can be said that Bac Kan is one of the areas considered "important regions" in the North of the country, with an important geostrategic position interms of politics, economics, culture, society, and national security room. Cho Don is a district located in the west of Bac Kan province. Historically and currently, Cho Don land has played a role as a place of trade and commerce with the lands of Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang provinces. From its establishment to 1945, the land of Cho Don (Bac Kan) had had many special economic changes. By historical and methodological methods, this research has contributed to clarifying the economic highlights of Cho Don (Bac Kan) under the impact of the colonial exploitation policies of the French colonialists. Research results also show that the economy of Cho Don (Bac Kan) had had many changes compared to the period before the French colonialists began exploiting it.
