Abstract


This study was conducted to describe the knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to the prevention of hepatitis B virus infection among students at Yersin University of Dalat in 2024. A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out on a sample of 510 students, utilizing a pre-designed questionnaire administered via Google Forms. The results indicated that 43.3% of students demonstrated good knowledge, with the highest correct response rate related to the causative agent of hepatitis B virus (81.2%), while the lowest was regarding the preventive effects of the hepatitis B virus vaccine (41.2%). Gender and academic major were found to influence students' knowledge levels. Regarding attitudes, 49.8% of students exhibited positive attitudes, with the highest agreement on the recommendation for healthcare workers to receive hepatitis B virus vaccination (83.5%) and the lowest on the necessity of hepatitis B virus prevention among adolescents (52.4%). Gender, academic major, and year of study were identified as influencing factors. In terms of preventive practices, 70.2% of students demonstrated good behaviors, with the highest adherence to avoiding shared use of razors (99.0%), while the lowest was receiving the hepatitis B virus vaccine (40.2%). Gender and academic major were also found to impact students' preventive behaviors.
