Abstract

The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of different doses of vermicompost tea and the ability to partially replace inorganic fertilizers on the growth and yield of white cabbage. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design with three replications under field conditions in Tra Vinh. The results showed that adding vermicompost tea at an extraction ratio of 1:5 combined with 50% inorganic fertilizer (NT3) increased significantly the diameter and yield of head of cabbage compared to the treatments using 50% inorganic fertilizer (NT1), using 100% inorganic fertilizer (NT2), using vermicompost tea at an extraction ratio of 1:10 combined with 50% inorganic fertilizer (NT4) and using vermicompost tea at an extraction ratio of 1:15 combined with 50% inorganic fertilizer (NT5). Specifically, the actual yield of cabbage in NT3 increased by 9.6% and 7.3% compared to NT1 and NT2, respectively. Therefore, the results of this study showed that using vermicompost tea at an extraction ratio of 1:5 could replace 50% of inorganic fertilizers.
