EVALUATING CHANGES IN KNOWLEDGE AMONG MOTHER HAVING CHILDREN WITH THALASSEMIA AT THAI NGUYEN NATIONAL HOSPITAL

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of health education on knowledge among mother having children with Thalassemia to help them providing better care for their children. A quasi-experimental design was used. A convenience sample of 48 mother were asked to complete a questionnaire related to their knowledge before and after educational session. The average age of the mothers was 32.35 ± 6.51. 72.9% of  mothers live in rural areas.The results showed  that the mothers’ knowledge was improved  after implementation health education program at p –value <0.001.
