THAINGUYEN PROVINCE WITH THE BORDER CAMPAIGN FROM AUTUMN TO WINTER IN 1950

Thainguyen province is an vital strategic position in the resistance war against French colonialism of Vietnamese between 1945 and 1954. Because it is the gateway of the Viebac revolutionary base, where the headquarters of the resistance war were located in. In 1950, the French colonialists conquered Thai Nguyen in order to make difficult for Vietnamese in their resistance war and save the defeat of French on battlefield at Caobang - Langson border. However, army and people in Thainguyen bravely fought with French to contribute to make a resounding victory of Vietnamese in the Border Campaign from autumn to winter in 1950. The article mainly uses historical, analytical, synthesized methods... highlighting the role of Thai Nguyen army and people in the victory of the Border Campaign in 1950. The results of the article contribute to confirming the important role of the “resistance capital” for the victory of the French resistance war (1945-1954).
