Abstract
The study was conducted in order to assess the situation and the economic - social - environmental efficiency in term of agricultural land use. Therefore, specific solutions for sustainable land use in Thai Nguyen city, Thai Nguyen province would be proposed. This study used household surveys to assess the efficiency of agricultural land use in all of 28 communes and wards. The results of study showed that there are 06 main land use types (LUT), and 10 types of land use correspondingly in the city. Most of agricultural land use basically have certain effect as well as contribute to reduce the poverty rate and attract employees. However, the study also points out the causes leading the effectiveness of some types of land use are not high and offer solutions to overcome.
