APPLYING LANGUAGE GAMES TO DEVELOP COMMUNICATION SKILLS OF THE STUDENTS IN SPEAKING CLASSES

Abstract

The use of language games in teaching a foreign language is one of the most effective methods which increases students’ learning motivation. Language games help and encourage students to learn and maintain their interest in learning. In addition, they also help teachers create the contexts in which language is practiced usefully and understandably for learners. In this article, we will refer to the application of specific language games in teaching English in general, and in teaching speaking skills in particular to develop students’ communication skills. Besides, we also offer a number of useful suggestions for teachers in the application of these games effectively.
