In this research, natri alginate floating suspention system containing antacids such as carbonate natri, carbonate calci have been initially studied using dispersion method. The effects of components in formulation of Floating systems were studied to its characteristic and floating ability such as amount of gas generating agents, amount of carbomer. The results show that characteristics and stability of floating system were almost influenced by formulation’s components such as amount of carbonate natri, carbonate calci, carbomers. When amount of carbonate natri was increased from 50 mg to 75 mg, the lag time Tlag was decreased and foating time was increased. Ca2+ ions was formed from reaction of CaCO3 and gastro acid has made cross-linking with alginic gel layers and made its more stability. When amount of carbonat calci was more increased, more Ca2+ ions, alginic gel layers were more stable. when amount of carbomer 974P, time of layer separation was increased. In this study, 0.2% amount of carbomers and 75 mg carbonate calci were chosen for formulation of natri alginate floating system containing antacids.
