Objective: To describe the situation and some anisometropia’s factors affecting of new general medical doctor students at TUMP in 2018 – 2019.
Research subjects methods: The new general medical doctor students at TUMP in 2018 -2019. Descriptive and cross-sectional method.
Results: A study of 350 students with 700 eyes, 56% of eyes with reduced vision. Prevalance of anisometropia was 59.7%, myopia is the highest percent (97.6%) and hypermetropy is 2.4%. There is a relationship between anisometropia and gender. Eye examinations which are not performed periodically are factor that increase the rate of anisometropia of new age student.
Conclusions: The rate of anisometropia in new students at TUMP is high, about 59.7% of the total. Myopia is the highest (97.6%). There is a relationship between anisometropia and gender. Eye examinations which are not performed periodically are factor that increase the rate of anisometropia of new age student.Keywords
