THE ROLE OF TRADITIONAL CULTURE IN SHAPING MODERN LIFESTYLE IN SOME COMMUNES OF BAO THANG DISTRICT, LAO CAO PROVINCE

Abstract

Traditional culture involves unique values, representing a culture and creating a cultural identity of a nation, being filtered and handed down from one generation to another throughout the country’s long history. It contains great internal power and acts as an important driving force for economic and social development, for natural resource and environment protection, and for national defense, security and social order and safety. Traditional culture plays an important role in perfecting human personalities and characters, reinforcing and strengthening the community. The process of urbanization and bad impacts of the market economy have partly affected many good cultural values of the ethnic groups living in Bao Thang district, Lao Cai province. This article focuses on analyzing performance rate of different kinds of traditional culture of the people in 3communes, thereby assessing the role of traditional culture in building new life in three communes of Xuan Quang, Son Ha, Gia Phu of Bao Thang district, Lao Cai province.
