Abstract

Argumentum is a common phenomenon in communication. In order to successfully create an argumentum, we need a variety of means of argumentum, and the most popular one is connecteur argumentif. This study aims to clarify the concept of connecteur argumentif in French, classify them, and propose some methods to teach them to students of School of Foreign Languages - Thai Nguyen University (SFL - TNU). Regarding the research methodology, we collected and synthesized the materials of connecteur argumentif in French, and then conducted a survey based on the writings of more than junior students in School of Foreign Languages - TNU. From the results, we can clearly see that many students are dealing with difficulties in using linking words, connectors - or connecteur argumentif - to write compositions. From there, some teaching methods are proposed to help students understand and use these elements more effectively.
