REVIEW THE POSSIBILITY GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF SOME NEW COMBINATIONS OF HYBRID MAIZE SEED BREEDING IN MAI SON DISTRICT, SON LA PROVINCE

Abstract

The experiment was conducted at Mai Son district, Son La province in two summer-autumn seasons in 2016 and 2017, including 09 new combinations of hybrid maize seed breeding and control is NK67. The results showed that the hybrid combinations in the experiment with growth duration varies from 109 to 117 days (in both two seasons) belongs to the middle duration group. The hybrid combinations have high plant height, height close corn and corn on the high percentage of optimal trees. The hybrid combinations are lightly infected corn borer and crossbred rust and stem rot disease at the 1-2 point level. The hybrid VN2, VN4 in both two seasons gave higher yield and stability compared to the other hybrid combinations and higher than the control.
