FACTORS RELATED TO EARLY INITIATION OF BREASTFEEDING BEHAVIOR AMONG MOTHER IN OBSTETRIC DEPARTMENT IN THAI NGUYEN NATIONAL HOSPITAL

Abstract


Objective: The aims of this study were to evaluate early initiation of breastfeeding and its related factors in practice and skill of early initiation of breastfeeding. Research Methodology:  The cross-sectional study design was applied for this study among 82 mothers in Thai Nguyen National Hospital. Results: There were 86.6% mother practiced early initiation of breastfeeding in first hour after birth, there were 69.5% mother practiced exclusive breastfeeding  in first hour, 65.9% mother had correct position of breastfeeding.  Age and level of education had no significant relationship with early initiation of breastfeeding. There were significant relationship between age and level of education with breastfeeding skills. Conclusion: Age and level of education had significant relationships with breastfeeding skills.
