The article used the FOD tissue proposed by IPCC 2019 to estimate the methane generated from solid waste at Chau Thanh waste treatment complex in An Giang province from 2015 to June 2020 and with calculation of the CH4 gas load to year 2030. The results show that the amount of methane generated from domestic solid waste in the area generating until 6/2020 was 30,857,490.96 tons of CH4 (equivalent to 771,437,272.5 tons of CO2). It is projected that by 2030, total methane emissions will decrease by about 52,609,854.11 tons of CH4 (equivalent to 1,315,246,350 tons of CO2) between 2021 and 2030. The benefits of solid waste recycling are remarkable, including reduction of green house gases and ability to take part in the Certified of Emission Reduction credit.
