Abstract

Many studies show that women contribute greatly to socio-economic development and environmental protection, thereby playing an important role in promoting the success of new rural construction. By the methods of collecting, analyzing, processing data and surveying 212 households in Binh Thuan commune, it has shown the difficulties in implementing the group of environmental criteria in the commune, one of the most difficult criteria of the National Target Program to build a new countryside. Specifically, only 3/17 villages in the commune can organize garbage collection activities. The results also show the role of women in the family and society as well as local environmental protection. Since then, the study give the points to help people have a correct and objective view of women’s roles in environmental protection and building a new countryside.
