Abstract

Abundant and high-quality labor force is an important resource for socio-economic development not only of Thai Nguyen but also the whole country in general. The article focuses on analyzing and evaluating the current situation of labor resources, employment structure and employment issues in Thai Nguyen province in the period 2010-2019. This study applied statistical methods; collected and processed data from the Statistical Yearbook of Thai Nguyen province; analyzed and synthesized reports from the Department of Employment and Labor Safety - Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Thai Nguyen province. The results showed that Thai Nguyen has a large workforce with higher professional qualifications, the average level of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region and the whole country. However, the province's job creation capacity is still inadequate, leading to relatively high job shortage and unemployment. Proposing a number of correct solutions and seriously and effectively implemented has contributed to improving the qualifications of workers, thereby creating jobs for thousands of workers each year, significantly reducing the rate unemployment and job shortage in the province.
