KNOWLEDGE OF MOTHER ABOUT ASTHMA IN PEDIATRIC DEPARTMENT, THAI NGUYEN NATIONAL HOSPITAL 2018

Abstract

Objectives: To describe the knowledge about asthma of the mothers children asthma admitted Pediatric Department of Thai Nguyên National Hospital. To explore factors related to knowledge of asthma of the mothers children asthma admitted Pediatric Department of Thai Nguyên National Hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted from March to August 2018 in 67 mother of children with asthma. The subjects interviewed directly base on the questionnaire. Results: 64.2% mothers was 25 to 35 years, 59.7% children’s asthma living in city, 56.7% mothers was working and 53.7% their family monthly income their family average and high. There are 55.2% chilren’s asthma living with people's smoking. The mean score for asthma knowledge was 17.3 (8-24), 40.3% mother were able to answer these questions highest score and 52.2% mother were able to answer these questions was everage. There was not significantly correlate mother’s asthma knowledge with family income, education level, place of living, and mother’s job. Conclusion: Mother had adequate basic knowledge of the symptom, preventive asthma therapy, daily management and treatment of acute exacerbations.
